Welcome to the Union Bank Staff Association (UBSA).
In 1970s, The banking industry witnessed a surge in the formation of NOBW units across all Banks, primarily in opposition to communist ideologies. On October 2, 1973, coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, The Union Bank Staff Association was established in Nagpur under the leadership of Shri Abaji Puranik, the then General Secretary of NOBW, along with Shri J. G. Bhutad and Shri D. G. Satokar. This marked a significant milestone as the association’s membership rapidly expanded across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka. The staff benefits we enjoy today are a direct result of UBSA’s relentless efforts. Initially, our bank lacked a transfer policy, paper bills, and other facilities. UBSA effectively addressed these shortcomings by presenting examples of policies and facilities available in other banks, formulating new plans, and corresponding with the Central Office. Furthermore, UBSA played a crucial role in ensuring the proper implementation of bilateral agreements. The merger of Union Bank of India and Corporation Bank led to the integration of Corporation Bank Worker’s Organization with Union Bank Staff Association, heralding a new era for Union Bank Staff Association.
